What’s not to love? A dashing, brooding older man, a plain but intellectual young woman, a spooky old house and a crazy lady in the attic! All the elements you need to make this classic story of love and loss completely unforgettable. I only regret that I waited until college to read it–don’t make the same mistake–check out this book and others by the Bronte sisters today!
I’ve heard that this book is good but it’s really long and drawn out. Haven’t read it so I can’t offer a real opinion, sorry. 🙁
I loved this book! I read my mom’s old edition and it had these awesome engravings to illustrate it and it so went along with the creepy mood. Personally, I liked Jane Eyre better than Wuthering Heights.
Oh, this book is SO much better than Wuthering Heights, which I read in college and really didn’t care for or get the point of.
I’ve read part of this, have yet to finish it though as it took so long to get even 2/3 of the way through it. What I have read was good so far though. Just make sure you have some time and patience.
I completely agree that this is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Bronte has a way of giving more than the average details/descriptions yes still keeping me completely engaged. I’m reading Villette now which doesn’t have quite the same entertainment value but is still good.
I read this book for the first time in fifth grade and have since then reread it. I agree that it is great. In my top two fiction books, along with 1984.
I’ve read this books twice. and both times I’ve loved it! don’t let the fact that it’s a classic hinder you from reading this.
I’m halfway through now, and am enjoying it. With the Victorian era, it is going to be long, but the language fills you up. It seems like it could end now with a happy ending, so there must be more trouble to come.
