2011 Top Ten

Please note that there has been absolutely no attempt to balance this list by age, gender or genre. These are just my “from-the-gut” favorites of the books I read this year. (While I love all my Top Ten books the same, I just might love WHERE THINGS COME BACK a tiny bit more:) Click on the title to go right to the review.

Bray, Libba. Beauty Queens.

Griffin, Adele. Tighter.

King, A.S. Everybody Sees the Ants.

Oppel, Kenneth. This Dark Endeavor.

Reeve, Philip. A Web of Air.

Scieszka, Casey & Steven Weinberg. To Timbuktu: Nine Countries, Two People, One True Story.

Stiefvater, Maggie. The Scorpio Races.

Taylor, Laini. Daughter of Smoke and Bone.

Whaley, John Corey. Where Things Come Back.

Yancey, Rick. The Monstrumologist: Isle of Blood.

  1. Great list, Jen! I’ve unfortunately only read Daughter of Smoke and Bone (which I just learned has already been acquired by Universal Pictures!). I am going to add the others to my TBR list now! Thanks. 🙂

  2. I loved Scorpio Races and I have Everybody Sees the Ants on my night stand. I can’t wait to read all of these, thanks for your favs, I know I will love them too!
    Have a great 2012!

  3. JUST finished Where Things Come Back and loved it. it really got me near the end.

good variety on this list, too. the tbr grows again!

  4. Wow, I haven’t read any of these! Thanks for the recommendations. I have been turned off some lists recently because too paranormal but this appears to be a wide variety of books.
